For choice and unusual plants grown and sold in a beautiful garden

Verbena bonariensis This is a very popular plant which has recently, rightly, had plenty of exposure. It has heads of an almost unending supply of blue/purple flowers each with a tiny orange eye. These provide a landing stage for the procession of butterflies which have a nectar supply provided from July to November. The flowers have a sweet scent especially noticeable on a balmy summer evening. Very strong, thin, airy stems which allow under planting. Once established will gently self seed. AGM
